to enrich our town through educational initiatives
and community building

How does the GEA help?

The GEA’s mission is to enrich our town through educational initiatives and community building. Since the Parent Teacher Groups are each focused on a single school, our goal is to complement their efforts by offering programs to the entire school district as well as everyone in Grafton.

While we are known for our community-building events, our annual fundraising campaign signals our plan to expand our resources and the educational programs we can deliver to everyone in Grafton.

Examples of our on-going educational initiatives include:

  • Communications & Awareness – the GEA attends and participates in relevant school committee, school space and other town committee meetings related to educational issues and then updates people through its email newsletter, meetings and web site.

  • Community Building – these are annual events such as the Ice Cream Social and Spelling Bee that are designed to bring the community together.

  • Scholarship – each year the GEA awards scholarships to graduating seniors (Grafton residents).

  • Workshops – free sessions open to the public that provide educational information and guidance from a guest speaker on a variety of topics of interest to the community. Recent examples include Internet safety for children and how to manage your credit.

  • Enrichment Grants –
