Event Details:
The Spelling Bee is a fun-filled evening for all ages. Spelling teams from various Grafton offices and organizations will compete against each other for the chance to be named the town's best spellers!
Attendees will also have the opportunity to bid on many fantastic silent auction items. Proceeds from the event will benefit Grafton Education Alliance Initiatives.
Don't worry about preparing dinner before you come... we will have pizza, sandwiches and other tasty treats available for purchase.
There is no charge to attend the Bee.
Team Details:
Teams consist of three people. Approximately 30 teams will compete in several spelling rounds as they vie for the title of Spelling Bee Champions! An official pronouncer and panel of judges will preside over each round to determine which teams advance to the next session.
In the past, teams have hailed from Grafton schools, town offices, churches, athletic groups, area businesses, student groups, political groups, etc.
Teams are encouraged to be creative when choosing their team names and wardrobe as prizes will be awarded in the following categories:
The members of the top spelling team will have their names listed on a plaque to be displayed in the Town Hall.
The cost to participate as a team is $150.00. Teams will be provided with a list of potential spelling words in advance.
